About Profiles
There are three types of Profiles on Base. Your User Profile manages your Base website account. Person and Organisation Profiles offer a way to promote and archive information online.
User Account Profile
- Mandatory for every registered user
- Stores your email address and password
- Universal website settings, like email notifications, are stored on your User Account profile
- Website visitors can see your user account avatar, name and any 'Person' or 'Organisation' profiles associated with your account. They can also see all of your public listings.
- The User Account Profile is listed as the author for any other Profiles or Listings created by this user
- If comments are added to discussions, they are also linked to the User Account profile
- Users message each other from and to the User Account profiles
Person Profiles
- Person Profiles are optional
- Person Profiles are intended to create a permanent record of a person who is or who has been professionally involved in the Arts
- Person Profiles can be linked to listings, to show that a Person was involved with that News, Event, Product or Service
- The quantity of Person Profiles that you can make depends on your subscription type
- Person Profiles are promoted in the 'Person' directory, accessible from the header menu of the website
Organisation Profile
- An Organisation Profile is optional
- Organision Profiles are intended to create a permanent record of an organisation who is or who has been professionally involved in the Arts
- Organisation Profiles can be linked to listings, to show that the Organisation was involved with that News, Event, Product or Service
- Users can currently only create a maximum of one Organisation Profile per User Account
- Organisation Profiles are promoted in the 'Organisation' directory, accessible from the header menu of the website
