MoMA Announces Summer Music Series for 2015

The Museum of Modern Art announces its lineups of free live music events in The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden for summer 2015. The annual Summergarden: New Music for New York free concert series returns for four Sunday evenings beginning July 5. Summergarden, a tradition since 1971, is part of MoMA’s long history of presenting contemporary classical music and jazz.

Chair Rupert Myer AO said that the Council saw a strong response to its new streamlined grants model and peer assessment process, both the result of a two-year reform process and extensive consultation with the sector.

The Australia Council for the Arts is deeply saddened by the passing of Australian jazz drummer and composer Allan Browne. Mr Browne was a significant leader in Australia’s music culture. He received the Australia Council’s Don Banks Award in 2001, numerous Australian Jazz Bell Awards and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2004.
