Cher Pruys has been awarded Fusion Art’s Grant for Artistic Excellence.

She is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning, self-taught artist based in Devlin, Ontario, Canada.

The Fusion Art Grant for Artistic Excellence is open to new, emerging and professional artists who show exceptional creative ability in their chosen craft.

These unrestricted monetary grants of $500 will be given to up to 3 artists each cycle to help with expenses involved with the creation of their art and to help advance their careers.

The grant opportunity was open to artists worldwide over the age of 18, both amateur and professional, working in any media, style, genre and/or subject matter, with the exception of video/film.

Artists were judged based on their artistic merits and on the following criteria: creativity, originality, interpretation, quality, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability and usage of chosen medium.

According to Cher, “The body of work I am submitting represents my love of portraying people. From the innocence of a newborn to the wisdom and sometimes haunting look of our elders, so much can be expressed on my canvas by brush. Capturing the body language and mood of my subject is one of the most rewarding and exciting moments as an artist.”

Congratulations Cher!
