Congratulations to Destiney Hett for A Sea of Snacks and Smiles winning Best Overall at Wild Heart Gallery's 1st Annual Animal Portraiture Open art exhibition! The painting has all the hallmarks of an excellent portrait. Story, composition, body position, lighting, color, background choices, and, in this case, even attire work together to give the viewer a deep understanding of the subject.
For our 1st Annual Animal Portraiture Open juried virtual art exhibition, artists were asked to submit animal portraiture artwork. Artwork ranged from hyper-realistic to abstract to surreal. Both wild and domesticated animal subjects were sought. The artists were creative with subject, mediums, and genres. This exhibition is a treat!
Artwork for this exhibition was selected by jury based on theme, originality, technique, skill, and quality of work.
