Emma Hack's recent commission for the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia, has captured the attention of national and world press, having been viewed in excess of 220,000 times on YouTube. A simulated car crash was comprised of models painted by Emma and her team. The shoot took a total of 18 hours, using 17 men and women - each with up to five layers of paint applied to their bodies.

The activities of the Netherlands Media Art Institute will cease as of 31 December, 2012. The closure of the NIMk became unavoidable after the announcement by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science that it would no longer support the Institute after 2012, because subsidies for socalled Supporting Institutions in the National Basic Cultural Infrastructure are being halted.
