decent sized studios.
approx 4×6 metres
one is a large shared space, but walls can be put up.
$70 a week all inclusive. secure fortress of a building. 3 minutes walk from footscray station, right on top of the nicholson street mall. good light. 24 hours access. good for artists and writers. plus you get to be in footscray, cheap food, never a dull moment.

How many people are in the space right now, and will the dancing tranny from the New Year festival be there?
in a week of so, there’ll be five people, one of whom is moving out mid feb now as she’s decided to stay another month.
there aren’t too many dancing trannies in the studio itself, but the streets of footscray are replete with various colourful and enterprising folk.
it’s a quiet space, but not by necessity. i practically have it to myself in the evenings.
is there still studio’s available…? and if there isn’t can i visit anyway? i’m new to footscray and wouldn’t mind finding out what is going on here! : )
i think there’s one left, but give hoang a call.
some places in footscray that you might want to visit are the footscray arts centre, trocaderos and the dancing dog, which is the old artspace building and has a wonderful little theatre built into. i think there are plans for studio spaces upstairs sometime down the track.
two more spaces available.
one is a stand alone room adjacent to the kitchen, the other is one of the aforementioned spaces. rent is $75 per week, paid per calendar month.

the room is taken now, i think, and the other is under consideration. i’m not 100% worded up on the situation, so you’re better off shooting an email to hoang.
