LITTLE WOODS GALLERY
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS DUE 16th Dec 2012
Little Woods is a contemporary gallery and street level window space aimed at emerging and established artists.
Currently accepting proposals for solo or group exhibitions, Little Woods also welcomes proposals for one-off events or performative works that may not fit into the three week exhibition schedule. Please discuss these ideas with the Gallery Coordinator.
Successful applicants will be offered a three week exhibition and will be required to enter into a short-term agreement. Little Woods provides public liability insurance, publicity, curatorial and marketing and social networking support (including the design and distribution of an email and printed invitation) and promotional listings. Little Woods also offers assistance with lighting and documentation and assists with opening nights.
The Space
The 22sqm space features a street level window/shop front, ensuring maximum visibility and foot traffic in a culturally rich and diverse Melbourne hub.
Cost
$250 per three week exhibition.
Artists are responsible for installing and de-installing their work, and insuring their works and their equipment.
About
Little Woods is open Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm. Artists are required to open and sit the gallery on Saturdays as the Studios are closed.
Founded in 2012, Little Woods is part of Artful Dodgers Studios. ADS is located at the core of Collingwood – a vibrant Melbourne cultural hub. ADS provides creative, inclusive and professional art spaces for young people whose lives may have been affected by difficult circumstances. Young people work in fully equipped art and music studios staffed with experienced artists and musicians – exploring and developing their creative skills, meeting and connecting with other artists and musicians and getting involved in high profile projects, exhibitions and other public outcome events.
HOW TO APPLY
All applicants must provide:
1. A completed Cover Sheet – formatted digitally as a Word *.doc or PDF file. This cover sheet must include your:

2. A one page exhibition proposal:
This should include your name, the title of the exhibition as well as a one paragraph description of how the exhibition will look (i.e. how many works, how will be installed, any special technical requirements or equipment to be used, the scale and media included) and a one paragraph outline of the ideas and concepts behind your project (what’s it all about?) The exhibition proposal should be formatted digitally as a Word *.doc or PDF file.
3. One Page CV:
For curators and groups shows please provide a one page CV for each artist involved, formatted digitally as Word *.doc or PDF files.
4. Support material:
Visual support material should include up to 10 images submitted in a digital format such as JPEG, PDF or Powerpoint slideshow *.ppt files. Images should be formatted at 72dpi and should not exceed 1mb each. For relevant support material too large for email (i.e. DVD video, sound files) please deliver clearly marked with applicant name to:
