SLIGHT at Brunswick Street Gallery
Corinne Bates 1st solo exhibition
SLIGHT is a photographic installation comprised of images capturing transient light projected onto interior architecture. Presented in antique picture frames normally reserved for sentimental portraits arranged in clusters upon the gallery walls, SLIGHT evokes a profound sense of loneliness and state of quiet contemplation.

SLIGHT is a photographic installation comprised of images capturing transient light projected onto interior architecture. Presented in antique picture frames normally reserved for sentimental portraits arranged in clusters upon the gallery walls -appearances are deceptive. At first glance the images gently recede to the point they verge upon non-existence like an empty picture frame piercingly proclaims absence. On closer inspection SLIGHT evokes a profound sense of loneliness and state of quiet contemplation, seductively extending an open-ended invitation for viewers to explore ‘what’s lurking in the shadows’.
