According to Wikepedia, the definition of Photography is the science, art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.

A photograph captures a moment in time.

For this competition we asked artists to show their best photography and digital media. Artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of the world around them. The artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired photography and digital media.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place. The First Place winner for the 2nd Annual A Moment In Time show is Jeremiah Gilbert for his photograph, St. Dunstan In The East London. Jeremiah’s ability to capture that perfect slice of life and his excellent command of the medium is what set his work apart. Kristopher is also the Featured Artist for the next four weeks.

Taking Second Place is Minnie Lucas for her photograph, Sheep At The Fair. Minnie’s unique perspective and ability to capture the expression of her subject draws in the curiosity of the viewer. And, Third Place goes to Gaylord Mink for his photograph, Country Road. The creativity with the medium as well as his interpretation of the theme is what set Gaylord’s work apart.

Honorable Mention awards were given as well. Honorable Mention awards go to Michael J. Duke for, Playing As The World Goes By, Judith Rayl for The Rose Embraced Her Blue Sky, and Barrett Schrader for Early Fall. Please visit the Monthly Winners Page to learn more about each of these award winning artists and to contact them directly about their work.

The remaining artists included in the exhibition serve as an example of impressive talent and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the J. Mane Gallery website.

We thank all the competition participants. If you are interested in purchasing any of the artwork in this exhibition, please contact the artists directly. J. Mane Gallery does not enter into the selling of artwork featured in any of the monthly online exhibitions.
