Artists Emme Orbach and Noah Spivak collaborate on a series of experiment-based artworks in their latest exhibition. ‘Leftovers of a Ghost’ explores one central question: what happens when you allow a chemical reaction to dictate the outcome of an artwork?
In the lead-up to the exhibition, the artists have encouraged chemical solutions to evolve on a variety of material substrates. By collaborating with natural forces that are beyond their individual controls, Orbach and Spivak exploit the moment where Art and Science meet.
This entirely new body of work showcases four very distinct stages in the artists’ creative practice: Inspiration, Experimentation, Presentation and Activation. And it is through these unique periods of consideration that the artists’ share their fondness of practice-led research and ephemeral artworks.
‘Leftovers of a Ghost’ is presented in association with National Science Week 2022.
