Dean, who won the New York Guggenheim Hugo Boss Award in 2007, was a Turner Prize nominee in 1998 and since then has held numerous exhibitions around the globe including Tate Britain, Schaulager, Basel, and DIA Beacon, to list a few. Dean studied painting, but is best known for her work with 16mm projects.
In this new survey, however, audiences will grasp the extent to which her practice embraces the analogue forms of photography, print, drawing and film to engage with the genres of landscape, portraiture, narrative and abstraction.
