Four works from Trewartha complete her section of the exhibition commencing June 16th. The works are ‘Bel composto’, -Italian for Beautiful Whole – which refers to Bernini’s concept of the unification of mediums. Struck in oil, acrylic, charcoal , pastel and ink the surfaces are beguiling, as is the im¬agery. In the course of undertaking her Doctorate, Trewartha’s scholarship has focused on concept and technique, as such adding to this particular artistic approach.
Large in scale at 1.85 × 1.2 m, the works have a powerful presence.
