Hines works explores imagery that is reminiscent of the cinema; taking gestures or moments that consists of only a few seconds on screen and expanding them into significant individual works. By focusing our attention on the familiar and readable cinematic tropes that we experience in an almost subliminal way in films Hine creates new complicit, rather than critical, narratives.
