To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
- Shakespeare
The idea of this exhibition came from the above Shakespeare quote from Macbeth. During the soliloquy Macbeth is lamenting the death of his wife and dealing with his indifference towards it. It conveys the mechanical beat of time. The scene specifically deals with war, fate, fortune, suicide and time.
The works in this exhibition lyrically explore the above themes, as well as extend the interpretation to looking at the notion of passing time, duration, memory, desire and anticipation.
