Works on paper, oil paintings and artist books deriative of residencies in Tuscany and Sardinia, Italy.

Earlier this year Kari successfully completed a Master of Fine Arts by Research at Monash University. During her candidature she was awarded a travel grant by the University to pursue her post-graduate studies at the Monash Prato campus in Italy, as well as a travelling scholarship to Sardinia, sponsored by the Sardinian Cultural Association of Victoria.

Kari’s period of study at the Prato campus also resulted in the invitation to take up a six month residency the following year at an artist’s studio in Tuscany. For an artist whose work is inspired by the phenomena of light and atmosphere, the residency provided her with the perfect opportunity to create a sustained body of work inspired by the seductive Italian light, observed over the three seasons of Spring, Summer and Autumn. The work in this exhibition showcases artwork that Kari has developed in her studio since returning from her residency.
