Eccentric hippies and mountain-folk once again appear throughout his surreal picturesque dreamscapes which unite fantasy, mysticism and the psychedelic, whilst an intriguing and playful imagery is imbued with an intense sense of quiet, peace and an underground liberation from mundane human concerns.

About Grant Nimmo

This is Grant Nimmo second solo show at Anna Pappas Gallery. Nimmo completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Monash University in 2002. Since then he has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, presenting his work at FortyFive Downstairs, Seventh Gallery and Viewing Space, and has been a finalist in the 2009 Metro Art Award and the 2010 Paul Guest Drawing Prize at Bendigo Regional Gallery. His first solo exhibition, Inside the Black Robe, was presented at Evan Hughes Gallery, Sydney in 2009, and his first solo exhibition at Anna Pappas Gallery, if you are a big tree, we are a small axe, was held in 2010. Nimmo lives and works in Melbourne and is represented in the Artbank collection as well as various private collections in Australia.
