Workshopped

Workshopped administered an application process and have selected designers and makers to move into the space for 8-12 week periods over the next year, transforming it into a studio and also stocking other Workshopped designers’ wares for sale. The Ground Floor space at Object provides a highly visible hub that has been transformed into a studio venue.

Object and Workshopped have unveiled their exciting new collaboration that will be taking place at Object Ground Floor, over the next 12 months.

It’s an engaging space that affords designers and the public a chance to bond and experience design together.

Part of promoting design for Object is to demystify the process and make it accessible for the general public, providing opportunities for people to engage and understand the design process from planning and ideation to completion.

This exciting initiative is just one further way that Object seeks to recognise and promote Australian designers and makers. Through this endeavour we are not only providing opportunities for it to flourish, but also building a stronger design community in Australia.

Object: Australian Design Centre is excited to announce this fantastic initiative and collaboration with Workshopped, who have a proven track record of fostering design.

“We are very proud to have nurtured yet another fruitful and innovative partnership that aligns with our aims of building a stronger design community in Australia… one that supports and promotes the full design process from creative thinking through to real world contexts of manufacturing and business.” Steven Pozel, Director – Ideator.

At Object we actively seek to partner with other groups that share our goals of supporting and promoting design – enabling us to continue to be at the forefront of our mission to enrich the design sector.

The first great designer of many in the next year taking up the challenge and moving into the Object Ground Floor from Wednesday 15 August is Adina Jozsef. Adina is a highly regarded jeweller who uses precious metals and gemstones in her sleek designs to create exquisite pieces that she has sold under her design label Koukii Designs for over 10 years.

Stay tuned for many more designers moving into and making their homes in the Object Ground Floor space over the next year.
