Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part IV

An exhibition of new artwork at Lauraine Diggins Fine Art by South Australian artist Stephen Bowers. In Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part IV Bowers uses ceramic history - form, pattern and illustration - to create thoroughly contemporary pieces, particularly appealing for their incongruous Australian features; flora, fauna and architecture and, in this exhibition, the kangaroo.

Art Exhibition previously on at Lauraine Diggins Fine Art in Victoria, Australia.
From Saturday 27 October 2012 to Saturday 08 December 2012

Stephen Bowers delights us with his crafting ability and deeply intelligent wit. He draws on history, natural science, artistic tradition and pop culture to create poetic collages in his exquisite and detailed ceramics. Bowers has extended his art practice, working beyond his usual collaborative partnerships in the ceramic tradition to creating ‘Blue Willow Surfboards’ with Peter Walker, specialist wooden board maker.
