Dennis Ropar presents ‘Cowboys, Pin Up’s and Bling Bling’ – a witty, dazzling exhibition for our time. With this new show, Ropar has yet again, reaffirmed his own iconic ‘pop’ status in the visual arts. At United Galleries, Ropar exhibits an impressive series of sculptures along side his works on canvas. Dennis Ropar, infamous for his ‘kinky’ public art stunts, is a true ‘pop’ artist, who, in the past, has unreservedly extended the ‘pop’ themes in his painted works on canvas, to fashion, video clip, music and now sculpture.

At the heart of Dennis Ropar’s latest offering is a series of 9 classic ‘boys toys’ such as a Vespa, Chainsaw & Victa mower, that have been ‘blinged’. Transfixed by the disco fairy’s wand, these objects have been mirrored with thousands of mosaic tiles to dazzling effect.

The art of Dennis Ropar is a pastiche of iconic imagery, pop-art references and gloriously kitsch colour. His works on canvas for this show present three of his classic ‘Roparised’ pop icons. The cowboy, the 50’s Pin Up girl and the Redhead matches logo. All
