We now have two places available on our Assistant Curator Development Programme. The programme is designed to give a wide range of training and experience of curatorial work needed to help care for our collections.

The successful candidate will be educated up to at least degree level with practical experience of work or volunteering within a museum or other relevant cultural organisation. Excellent grammatical English, computer skills and a good working knowledge of a relevant second modern language are essential. We are also keen to attract candidates with interests in the art and design of the 20th and 21st centuries, and with an interest in Asia, including the Islamic Middle East.

Applications are currently being sought for two of our curatorial departments: Asia; Furniture, Textiles and Fashion. Secondments during the 5 year contract will be arranged in other curatorial departments, including Word and Image; Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics and Glass; the Museum of Childhood. This a 5 year fixed term contract working full time (36 hours per week) in the V&A Band 6.
