Hungry Hearts

Screening as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival, Hungry Hearts is an adaptation of Ania Yezierska’s story of the Levin family, who escape Tsarist Russia in search of a better life in America. Shot on location on the New York’s Lower East Side, this bittersweet tale is a tragic and wonderfully comic portrait of the era, and captures the hopes and hardships of Jewish immigrants in the New World
