Australian Print Workshop provides access to a wide range of printmaking expertise and equipment, attracting artists from around Australia and overseas. Since its establishment in 1981 APW has worked with many of Australia’s leading artists.

Paul Boston’s collaboration with APW printers resulted in two lithographs, marking Paul’s first investigation of lithography.

John Coburn had a longstanding relationship with Australian Print Workshop, visiting Melbourne from his Sydney home on numerous occasions to work with APW printers.

Dale Hickey collaborated with APW printers on a major lithographic project in 1992. These iconic images, part of a major body of work titled The Void and Other Symbols, explore the complex technical possibilities of plate lithography.

Alun Leach-Jones has collaborated with APW printers since the mid 1980’s on a variety of print projects. The suite of six works featured in this exhibition result from APW’s most recent collaboration with Alun and employ a combination of lithography and linocut.

Kevin Lincoln has produced limited edition prints at APW since its inception. Kevin’s lithograph Night Music VII results from a special master class conducted by internationally renowned master printer Ken Tyler.

Allan Mitelman selected the medium of stone lithography for his collaboration with APW printers, resulting in an extraordinary suite of limited edition prints. Works from this suite were featured in the National Gallery of Victoria exhibition and publication Allan Mitelman: Works on Paper 1967 – 2004.

Tony Scott collaborated with APW printers to produce lithographs that explore the possibilities of multiple plate lithographic printing, inspired by Tony’s fascination of silk fabric and the grid patterns of Chinese interior design.
