Development Records Assistant

As the Museum prepares for the opening of its new Renzo Piano–designed building, the Development Records department will play a crucial role in defining new processes to encompass increases in gift volume, membership promotions, and other initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager of Development Records, the Development Records Assistant will play an integrated role in the overall maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database. This position provides an opportunity to develop, streamline, and implement new practices for sustaining a larger member base.

Responsibilities include:

Processing credit cards, checks, and online payments on a daily basis for transactions related to membership, donations, and event ticketing
Processing daily closing of gifts, weekly membership card files and acknowledgements, and other related projects as required
Maintaining database integrity through the use of queries, exports, imports, and reporting
Producing data sets for segmentation in advance of solicitation mailings
Assisting with the maintenance of online transactional pages
Processing member sign-ups
Working closely with the Membership team to resolve membership and gift related questions, and following up as needed
Completing department-related administrative tasks
Cooperatively working with the team and Development department as a whole to streamline and document procedures

B.A. or B.S.
Willingness and availability to work at exhibition openings and fundraising events as needed
Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, and willingness to learn new programs and processes
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel required, Raiser’s Edge preferred)
Creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize, and multi-task
