Manager of Facilities

The manager of facilities will report to the director of facilities and assist in managing all facilities department–related activities including general maintenance, corrective, preventive, and planned maintenance of all MEP and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting in the coordination and operation of the Museum’s computerized maintenance management program (CMMP)
Overseeing all porter activities including scheduling, cleaning, and special event setup and breakdowns
Working closely with exhibition staff on lighting schedule
Assisting with creating and improving the services provided by the facilities department.
Supporting the director of facilities in accomplishing budget goals and capital project activities; providing leadership in the absence of the director of facilities.
Working closely and cooperatively with the director of facilities in leading and directing the workflow of porters, mailroom staff, loading dock attendants, and engineering staff
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in management, business administration, facility management, engineering, or related fields
At least 5 years of experience in facilities operation management or engineering management
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that will foster effective working relationships with all department staff
Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures, and experience with technical skills
Knowledge and judgment to plan and accomplish department goals.
