In installations, videos and performances, he employs anti-aesthetic devices such as the portrayal of the artist as hapless incompetent; the use of absurdist humour; notions of regression, failure and ‘deformity’, and the use of clumsy sexual evocations as a means of decentering or destabilizing the object or performance / installation.
