Artists Rights: Copyright, Contracts and Negotiations

This interactive presentation will discuss the creative process and copyright laws. Common questions such as; “When do you own it? What about making art for and with others? What if someone copies my works?” will be addressed.

The second part of the presentation will address Negotiating as an Artist and will include things to consider when working with other artists and with clients, the importance of getting your deal in writing and an overview of some sample contracts.

Open Your Eyes – Inclusive Practice Training

Are you a change maker interested in providing great access and opening doors to new and diverse audiences? Do you crave invention? Open Your Eyes to new ways of experiencing, planning and working with people with disability. Facilitated by people with disability Open Your Eyes challenges perceptions of ‘disability’ and presents a positive view of inclusion for artists and arts workers interested in developing inclusive practices and projects.

Arts in the North: Networking event

If you are an artist or maker in the north of the Moreland municipality, or would like to develop an arts project there, come along for this informal networking event. There will be some short presentations from artists working in the North followed by an interactive session for creatives to share their interests and hopefully form some future working partnerships!

4 Walls: An arts space resource Official Launch

Join us for the official launch of 4 Walls: An Arts Space Resource – a free guide to setting up a studio space.

This resource has been designed to assist people with setting up and maintaining creative spaces in the city of Moreland. Subjects covered include insurance, marketing, permits and planning, finance, case studies and advice from studio founders. The free guide will be available at the event.

Getting Funded: A Guide to Creative Victoria Funding

A presentation on Creative Victoria’s funding programs for independent artists and arts organisations, to be followed by a Q&A forum on current funding opportunities through Creative Victoria. Christabel will also outline what panels look for in funding applications and how to apply.
