Friday Nights at NGV returns this winter, running over six Fridays from 2 October to 6 November as part of the 2015 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition, Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great.

Friday Nights gives visitors exclusive after-hours access to the Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great, live performances from a line-up of Australian and international performers, DJs, pop-up talks and great food and dining experiences. This year, indie rock, pop, jazz, folk and rock music are all on the menu.

Headline: Glenn Richards

Glenn Richards is the singer and songwriter for one of Australia’s most accomplished and well regarded bands, Augie March. Glenn has written and released six full length albums with Augie March and solo, as well as numerous EPs, scored two feature films and several shorts, produced Augie March’s latest album and prepared the digital performance component of the album for the band’s road show. He has won several awards for song writing and though he prefers working behind the scenes more than anything, his live performances of the last few years have become equal parts transcendent and warmly, often hilariously intimate. He is currently recording music for three feature films, and a local documentary, as well as touring Augie March, writing for other artists, and slowly working away at a new solo project for 2016. He will perform at the NGV with accompaniment from Dan Luscombe of The Drones and a special appearance from Kiernan Box, Augie March Keyboardist on bass guitar.
