Drawn from the Gallery’s collection, this exhibition features recent work by Australian and international photographers who interrogate the limits of photographic representation.

These artists are preoccupied with the material properties of the photograph. They play with re-composition through physical or digital collage, alternative printing methods and post-production techniques. Committed to a process-oriented approach to photography, they resist the category of the purely representational.

The artists – many of whom are in the early stages of their careers – include Jacqueline Ball, Walead Beshty, Matthew Brandt, Zoë Croggon, Christopher Day, Cherine Fahd, Todd McMillan, Justine Varga and Luke Parker.
