Titled after an extract from a Kazimir Malevich quote ‘Swim in the White Free Abyss’, in which Malevich refers with revolutionary zeal to the academic and formal concerns of the picture plane; this exhibition is an opportunity for these artists to consider both the spirit of the times when Malevich was reinventing the picture plane, and of now when the visual language of modernist abstraction has been with us for over a century.
