You are my past, I am your future

Michelle Hamer solo show at Nicholas Projects

This curated solo exhibition of Michelle Hamer's pixilated work focuses on some of her more stripped back/minimal works. The language comes to the fore as the aesthetic of the colour palettes are sparser. Hamer is known for her social commentary through laboriously hand rendering her own photographs of language within the environment around her.

Art Exhibition previously on at Nicholas Projects in Victoria, Australia.
From Friday 22 January 2016 to Saturday 20 February 2016
Launch Wednesday 20 January 2016, 6pm

She works with hand-stitching on perforated grids and hand-mark making through these grids onto paper.

‘You are my past, I am your future’ is her first showing of a new direction in her practice working with text based barrier tape on polypropylene debris mesh. Her work highlights time and maps space both through physical practice and conceptually through the language, materials and techniques used.
