Practising Australian architects who love and embrace aspects of Asian architecture are expanding and enriching our architectural heritage. This series introduces some of those architects, whose talks will reveal their empathy and respect for Asian architecture and the ways in which it has impacted on their own practice. Different architects have responded to different cultures, so these lectures will double as enticing introductions to a kaleidoscope of Asian architectural aesthetics and insights into personal practice. The lectures will serve to demonstrate the changes occurring in the Australian landscape as the built and garden environment absorbs lessons from the architectural traditions of countries as diverse as Iran, India and Japan.
