Brisbane trio The Goon Sax manage the all but impossible on debut album Up To Anything – they convey all the insecurity, heightened emotion and fraught microdrama of teenage existence, while still being teenagers themselves. Recorded while they were all still in high school, Up To Anything has seen the band acclaimed around the world, from Rolling Stone Germany to Pitchfork to the hallowed pages of Mojo, Uncut and NME. The Goon Sax look up to artists whose heyday happened long before they were born (such as Orange Juice, The Pastels and Galaxie 500), but they imbue these influences with a vivid, youthful urgency all their own.
