L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables

PG SUITABLE FOR KIDS 6+

It is the late 1870s on the picturesque Prince Edward Island, Canada. Orphan Anne Shirley is mistakenly sent there to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, an elderly brother and sister who had intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm. Anne must make her way with the Cuthberts, in school, and in the town of Avonlea to ensure she is never sent back to the orphanage again.

Art Screening previously on at ACMI - Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Victoria, Australia.

Based on the novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery published over a century ago, this sensitive update stars Ella Ballentine (Time Tremors) as the plucky Anne Shirley who is joined by prolific Canadian actress Sara Botsford as the reserved but kind hearted Marilla Cuthbert and Hollywood legend Martin Sheen as Marilla’s shy and unassuming brother, Matthew.
