FRONT GALLERY : : FLAKKARI by BRIAN CHEUNG

Flakkari means ‘wanderer’ in Icelandic, and is the culmination of Brian’s experiences of living and working at the Nes artist residency in rural Iceland for six months in late 2015. It is Brian’s first solo exhibition and features drawings, paintings, prints and artist books created both during and after the residency. Flakkari celebrates the experience of wandering away from home to a new environment both harsh yet unforgettably captivating.

BACK GALLERY : : WAYFARE by TAYLA BROEKMAN

Wayfare is an exhibition based on my personal journey and growth over the last 8 months.
Often when I create work, I subconsciously depict characters from my life. In this show I’ve painted some unintentional self portraits, and expressed my desire for connection to myself, others and to a higher power. Some of these paintings touch on a combination of sexuality and enlightenment, and reveal stories about my engagement with the world.
Using gouache on watercolour paper, I have focused mainly on using colour, tone, line and composition to construct my artworks. With a history of digital art, I strive to achieve a semi digital look using flat block colours and gradients, with clean line work.

UPSTAIRS GALLERY : : PARALLEL UNIVERSE by LAUREN GUYMER

In a Parallel Universe far away, is a natural world that is neither here nor there. A place of sanctuary that has never been tread, where the moon and stars shine bright.
Lauren Guymer is an emerging Visual Artist from Melbourne. In her debut solo exhibition Lauren presents a new series of imagined landscape drawings that explore a wild and uninhabited world.

SIDE GALLERY : :ENDLESS WONDER by SIAN SONG

ENDLESS WONDER is a collection of works exploring the inspiration drawn from the natural world that surrounds us. Nature has the greatest influence on the boundless imagination of childhood. From the biggest oceans to the tinniest leaf, the microcosm of our natural world is awe-inspiring. Sian Song’s current body of work focuses on her relationship with this theme and how it has shaped her creative process and weaved a narrative thread throughout her artistic career.
