Join distinguished guests for a discussion: Dr Kristen Sharp – Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at RMIT University, Rachel Marsden – Lecturer in Art Curatorship from The University of Melbourne, Artist and Independent Curator Nikki Lam and Painter Kevin Chin.

How has globalisation affected cultural discourse? Do artists have a responsibility to celebrate and reveal their cultural heritage? Is the market dictating political commentary? How are shifts in cultural boundaries directing artistic approaches and responses? This timely forum will follow the artists’ and curator’s talk at 2pm. Eugenia Lim will also be presenting her new performance Invisible Cities all afternoon so spend the day soaking up the amazing works in Closing the Distance and hear and learn about the context framing this timely exhibition.
