Join exhibition curator Brian Allison for this floortalk on the Grainger's temporary exhibition Grainger Photographed: Public Facades and Intimate Spaces. Brian will reveal the curatorial process behind the exhibition, including an exploration of the different roles that photography played in Percy Grainger’s life and career.

Join curator Brian Allison as he explores the dual aspects of the role of photography in Percy Grainger’s life and the its importance as a means of self-promotion and expression.

Percy Grainger understood the power of the photograph to document significant events and to entice his adoring public. Grainger Photographed: Public Facades and Intimate Spaces looks at aspects of portrait photography through the prism of Grainger’s diverse collection and displays fine formal portraits from some of the world’s most highly regarded studios alongside intimate images of Grainger’s private life.

The exhibition is accompanied by a series of free public programs in which curators and photographers explore curatorial concepts behind the exhibition, contemporary practice and the power of an image as both a marketing tool and a means of self-expression.

The floor talk will be held at the Grainger Museum between 12:00PM and 1:00PM.
