A pioneer of performance art in 1960s, Joan Jonas (born 1936) has sustained a six-decade long career, making her one of the most highly regarded and influential artists working today.

For the first time at Tate Modern, a single artist’s work is explored not only in a major exhibition in the galleries but also in film screenings in the Starr Cinema and performances in the Tanks and beyond. Jonas’s experimental installations are presented in an immersive setting, creating a labyrinth of projections, soundscapes, props, masks and mirrors. Featuring landmark pieces such as Organic Honey, Mirage and Reanimation, the exhibition is also accompanied by the unveiling of a large-scale new work.

Organised by Tate Modern and Haus der Kunst, Munich.
