Penny Koukoulas: Lost Dogs
The Lost Dogs' home in North Melbourne cares for over 20,000 dogs and cats every year, making it Australia's largest animal shelter. When photographer Penny Koukoulas and her partner adopted their Labrador cross, Zala, from the Lost Dogs' Home a few years ago, it was the impetus for a project that culminates with an August exhibition at Melbourne's fortyfivedownstairs.
Lost Dogs explores the role that pets play in our lives and aims to raise public awareness of the responsibility of pet ownership and the harsh reality of life for a discarded animal. The exhibition runs from August 4th to 15th.
