This year, Art Basel had two excellent works by Spanish artist Juan Uslé. Romperbrumas, presented by Galerie Thomas Schulte, and Brecha, shown by Frith Street Gallery. Uslé’s non-representative abstract works aim to communicate a personal and poetic vision of the world rather than narrative. Influenced by a range of ideas from multiculturalism to philosophy, the rich dry pigment and dispersion on canvas works create contrasting entities between systemization and chaos…
