Changes to MGA's programs in response to COVID-19 image

Dear Friends of MGA and visitors, I’m writing to let you know that in response to the rapidly changing environment we are all facing, we are modifying our programs and operations in line with government guidelines. Further information in relation to COVID-19 can be found on Monash City Council’s website.

While MGA remains open to the public we have altered our operations to implement social distancing and are limiting numbers within the gallery spaces. We have postponed upcoming programs and all group tours. The café has chosen to reduce their hours over the next week with a view to close. We will continue to update hours of operation on our website.

We have in place ways to manage the risk of COVID-19 for our team, and many are working remotely. So please, send us an email if you want to reach out.

We can announce that we will re-align our exhibition program so that we can continue to support the upcoming Photo 2020 international photography festival which has made the decision to postpone until 10–27 September 2020.

This will mean the current exhibition, Portrait of Monash, will be extended to 5 July 2020 and the launch of the Photo 2020 exhibition, Not standing still: new approaches in documentary photography, will open prior to the festival.

Over the next few months you will begin to see our digital world activate with ways to not only connect with us but each other. Keep watching our social media, mga.org.au and our microsite www.portraitofmonash.mga.org.au for updates.

We want to thank you all for the support you have shown us in a time of such uncertainty. We are thinking of you and your families and wish you the best in an unprecedentedly difficult time. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
