Abigail Moncrieff to curate the next Experimenta Biennial of Media Art

Having fled the sunny shores of Sydney’s MCA, Abigail comes locked and loaded to curate Experimenta’s 5th International Biennial of Media Art.

Formerly Project Coordinator of C3West at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Sydney Abigail developed projects such as HEADS UP with Craig Walsh, Activate 2750 with Ash Keating, What Is Missing with Sylvie Blocher, and Talking Trash with Jeanne van Heeswijk.

She has worked with artist collective Campement Urbain (Sylvie Blocher and François Daune) on their project in Penrith. Abigail has been an independent producer on numerous artist projects, including La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc with Javier Téllez for the 2004 Biennale of Sydney, and she curated the group exhibition, Video Time at MOP Gallery, Sydney in 2009.

Abigail is also an avid filmmaker and her film Conversations on the Moon (2009) was recently screened at Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Abigail will commence with Experimenta on 17 January 2010.
