UNIT A shows new contemporary paintings every first Friday of the month by Fort Myers artist Marcus Jansen and has recently open his doors from Monday to Thursday between 10:00 - 3:00pm. Guest artist and former Rauschenberg assistant Jonas Stirner also will have new large and small sculpture works on display.

UNIT A serves as Jansen’s Headquarters that recently organized exhibitions in Mian Italy where Jansen is now represented by Gallery Bianca Maria Rizzi & Matthias Ritter after Jansen’s recent selection as the only American painter included for the Arte Laguna Art Prize 2013 in Venice.

The Rush Art Galleries, funded by Russel and Danny Simmons in New York City is hosting a fundraiser that include artist’s Shepard Fairey, Peter Max and Jansen as well as other contributing artist’s to bring funds to the The New York Coalition for Healthy School Food on June 27. 2013, reception is between 6-9.

Jansen is exhibiting is also exhibition at The Boca Raton Museum of Art in the “All Florida” Annual exhibition that ends July 14. 2013 and The Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport CT, where Jansen recently had one work placed in it’s permanent collection as part of the traveling exhibition “eye on the storm” that started from the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery in March. The Housatonic of Art Museum has one of the most significant collections of any U.S., two-year college. Works range from early Modernism to Pop to West Coast Minimalism, including: Larry Bell, Christo, Pablo Picasso, Valerie Jaudon, Alex Katz, and Sylvia Sleigh.

The Mirus Gallery in San Francisco also is hosting an ongoing exhibition called “Dreamtime: New Surrealism” featuring the work of 11 contemporary artists, including Jansen, who delve into dreamlike imagery, albeit in radically different styles. This group show examines the ways that the original surrealist movement was born as a reaction to the political chaos in war-torn Europe in the early 20th century. The exhibition runs through this and next month.

Slovenia’s International ART STAYS Fair will have works by Jansen and later the Historic Castello di Burunzo Castle in Varcelli Italy curated by a leading Professor from the University in Venice will have works in an International group show in July.
