FINAL WEEKEND - Monet’s Garden Until Midnight image

The National Gallery of Victoria is celebrating Monet’s last night in Melbourne with a great lineup of music acts and special guest pop-up talks. Monet’s Garden: The Musée Marmottan Monet,Paris, is exclusive the NGV and must close Sunday 8 September.

Tony Ellwood, Director NGV said: “Monet’s Garden has to-date been enjoyed by almost 300,000 visitors of all ages. We are extending the hours on Saturday night 7 September until
midnight so that everyone has a chance to see the largest exhibition of works by Monet’s ever to be shown in Australia.”

Throughout the night there will be live performances by seven time ARIA award winning songwriter and composer David Bridie and the Pills, Melbourne synth-pop four piece Pikelet as well as a DJ set by Tristan Harris.For visitors planning their trip to the NGV during the final weekend of Monet’s Garden, events include:-Friday Nights at Monet’s Garden

Jae Laffer is recognised as one of Australia’s finest songwriters; with his band The Panics he has crafted
several albums worth of classic songs that embrace both stark intimacy and unapologetic grandeur. In the
UK his songs have been compared to a cross between Dylan and Echo and The Bunnymen; they stand alongside the work of Paul Kelly, The Triffids and The Go-Betweens as important touchstones on the Australian music landscape.
