Sydney's MCA celebrates its Two Millionth Visitor image

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) has recently seen its 2millionth visitor walk through the doors since the newly developed and expanded MCA Australia opened its doors to the public on 29 March 2012.

The MCA is building a strong reputation as Australia’s leading contemporary art institution and a world class museum by continuing to attract interest locally and internationally. The response from artists and our audience, which is why we exist, has been extraordinary.

To celebrate this event, the artist Liam Benson created a performance entitled ‘Me and You’ for the occasion. To mark this occasion, these are some of the MCA’s major achievements and quirky facts;

Since re-opening:

• 1.6 million people have visited the MCA online

• Kids and Families audiences have increased 15-fold

• The MCA has had over a 1,000 events, 100 Weddings, and a couple of surprise proposals
