A Matter of Factory image

A Matter of Factory

Humans like to bend the universe to their will. Curiosity leads to experimentation, invention and eventually enterprise. As the dominant species humans can create new life forms, shape and design specialised pets, guide ‘natural selection’ in farm animals. Humans are constantly breeding in the profitable traits (or defects) without too much thought for the repercussions.

Life in Space image

Life in Space

Pursuing an obsession for objects with mystery and purpose – or least suggested purpose and potential mystery – creates a series of curious gatherings with ritualistic possibilities. The exhibition will allow both the artist and the audience to entertain the promise of a suggested, unspoken narrative.

Woman Vs Wild: Tai Snaith

Woman Vs Wild is a site-specific installation of new collage and drawings on found books and paper. Based around ideas of the creative self being akin to a wild animal; a beast that is put through various degrees of taming, compromise and process before publishing or presenting an acceptable outcome, Woman Vs Wild is a playful and wry look at women that have trusted this wild part of their psyche.

An Ordinary Kind of Ornament image

An Ordinary Kind of OrnamentHanna Bertram

An Ordinary Kind of Ornament is an installation which transforms dust into an ornamental carpet. The work explores the possibility of preciousness within the incidental. By symbolically using the language of ornament - which simultaneously adds value and is functionally superfluous - it seeks to highlight the ambiguities of preciousness.

Deep Cuts image

Deep CutsEllequa Martin

Deep Cuts is an installation observing destructive and hostile deeds towards fragile environments. A mood of seizure and infestation dominates a peaceful place of habitation, from which an awkward overtaking emerges. Seemingly endless pillage and plunder is further morphed and manipulated to an irksome moment, in which things are forevermore left looking not quite right.

Arterial Embolism image

Arterial EmbolismAnna-Maria O'Keeffe

Arterial Embolism is a sculptural scenario of a seemingly dislodged and relocated urban landscape. This room sized installation sees the spatial confines of gallery 3 tightly house a ruptured chunk of runway/highway, as though it were violently removed from some exterior scene and reconstructed within the gallery.

The Lost City of Adelaide image

The Lost City of AdelaideJames Kenyon

What if Adelaide was a lost city? An Atlantis, an Ur, a Pompeii? A city and society so advanced and evolved that its people could communicate with a complexity, efficiency and poetry that carried meaning too great for the written word? What if these Adeladians developed a script with an added dimension; the third dimension...

Screen Test (Australiana) John A. Douglas

In these works, John A. Douglas juxtapositions two rural suicides from the films Walkabout and Wake in Fright.
