Art Gallery in Panama.

Allegro Galería strives to have a space that promotes and supports the best of the visual arts from Panama and abroad. Its goal is to be a bridge between artists and galleries in a number of countries, and between artists and the public—whether established collectors or newcomers to the field.

Allegro Galería began taking shape when Allegro was born in 1991, and took its first steps in the field of art with a number of group shows that featured some of the best-known artists of the Panamanian Art scene, such as Brooke Alfaro, Isabel De Obaldía, Amalia Tapia, and Olga Sinclair.

In 2000, Allegro organized Huellas, a show with the works of 20 women, that brought together the most significant female artists in Panama at the time, including those native born and living here or abroad, and those born elsewhere who have made Panama their home. Huellas showcased examples of painting, sculpture, photography, and video, all of which were reproduced in a magnificent catalogue that recorded, for posterity, the works that these women were creating at the dawn of the millennium.

The driving force behind this project is undoubtedly the passion for art, as well a profound sense of responsibility to the represented artists, as well as to the gallery’s clients. Each new project will enrich us all.
