ACE Gallery moved to Los Angeles in 1967, and steadily developed a distinguished exhibition history that comprised David Hammons, Bruce Nauman, Warhol, Robert Irwin, Twombly, James Turrell, Vito Acconci, Sam Francis, Mary Corse, Frank Stella, and many other artists who have made lasting contributions to art history. When ACE Gallery moved to its current location in the Art Deco building on “Museum Mile,” one that formerly housed a department store, its immense exhibition area became the paradigm for the gallery model that sought to imitate full-scale museum exhibitions.
In October of 2016, ACE Gallery brought in a new Exhibitions Director, Drew Hammond, to revitalize the roster of artists and curate exhibitions for progressive developments in contemporary art.
