Sorella Acosta, a contemporary art and antiques exhibition organizer in Brussels, and her husband Jacques Collaer, tribal art collector travel for over more than twenty years in Africa. Fascinated by the customs and traditions of ethnic groups but also by the african contemporary art creativity, they launched in 2011 “Out of Africa”, the first contemporary and tribal art gallery in the Spanish Pyrenees. After an impressive number of exhibitions, they decided in June 2013 to move to Sitges, a cultural and artistic resort place at 35 km south of Barcelona. As well as promoting African tribal art, Out of Africa hosts five times a year contemporary art exhibitions, highlighting emerging and established African artists, noted for their freedom and the originality of their artistic language.
