The Marshall Seifert Gallery was conceived in 1981 with the concept of only showing women’s art and photography. From late 1983 to 1990 the emphasis was on emerging artists with many showing their works for the first time.
Over the last decade the gallery has concentrated on established artists and historic material and continues to hold extensive collections of studio pottery and photography.
The gallery remains out of the mainstream, believing excellence of its time is never in fashion.
