Heather is an artist exploring the intersections of art, science and technology, often working in collaboration with non-arts professionals and processes. With interests ranging across medicine, psychology, perception and visualisation, projects have included microbial portraiture, cellular wallpapers, performing cuttlefish and organic edible installations.

She has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad including: The Other Flower Show, V&A, London; Future Face, Science Museum, London; Diagnose [Art], Kunst Museum Ahlen, Germany. In 2003 she was Research Fellow in Art & Science at the University of Sussex School of Life Sciences and she is currently Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics heading a university wide collaboration between contemporary art and social science.

Films made include an art documentary In Search of the Maelstrøm (2007), a thermal imaging dance for camera piece Transient Touch (2002) and over 20 short films made with community based groups. Recent publications include The Cutting Edge of Wallpaper (Black Dog Publishing, 2006) and Leonardo Journal (October 2006).
